Five Major Keys to Being a Happier Mama

Finding Your Happiness

The day I became a mother was the greatest day of my life, hands down. I’d never felt such happiness before, but, little did I know it would only last for so long. Before you take this the wrong way, understand that after having a baby your hormones and emotions are running rampant, literally.

There are so many joys that come with being a mother but there are also so many sleepless nights and temper tantrums. With all the stress a mother carries its important to take the time to focus on your needs and most importantly, on your happiness.

By taking care of yourself, you are able to provide better care for your children. A happy mother makes for a happy child.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Easier said than done but it is important to understand what deserves your energy and what does not. Letting every little thing get under your skin will surely ruin your day so instead of getting worked up about something, take a breather and reset.

Get Healthy

Have you ever heard that when you look good, you feel good? Well this is 100% true. Taking care of your physical body is a major key to taking care of the person inside. Just by eating healthier or spending a short 20 minutes being active can make all the difference in your mood. I’ve recently started working in 30 minutes of yoga into my morning routine and I got to say, it has made a huge difference in how I go about my day.

Forget Everyone’s Opinions

This is a big one for those who have outsiders constantly critiquing their parenting skills. Everyone has opinions and advice when it comes to being a parent but don’t get too wrapped up in it, especially when it is negative. The decisions you make for your child are just that, your decisions.
